Business/Services Available

In September of 2006, Sierra Blanca Brewing Company expanded its operation and relocated to Moriarty from Carrizozo, New Mexico. In December of 2007, the brewery launched four new brands of beer under the Rio Grande label. Their customer response has been great and distribution throughout New Mexico is strong. Most recently, retail space and a tasting room were added at the Park and ABQ Brew Pub is scheduled to open in Fall, 2009, in Albuquerque.

On April 1, 2006, the Southwest Soaring Museum opened its doors to the public boasting a newly constructed 240' x 160' building with 38,400 square feet of floor space. This concluded Phase I of the building project, and there is work in progress to continue the dream of building a world-class museum which is the mission of the Museum. The mission includes preserving and presenting the history and legacy of soaring and to communicate and inspire New Mexico schoolchildren, and the citizens, and visitors passing through the State to experience the wonder of flight.

In August, 2008, NMDOT Park & Ride, added the Turquoise Route Schedule to its service area. Moriarty's crossroads location makes it ideally suited for a multi-modal transportation hub that is of great benefit to the entire region. The route offers connectivity to Albuquerque's Uptown Transit Center located at Americas Parkway and Uptown Blvd., N.E, and Alvarado Transit Center and Rail Runner Station located at 100 First Street, S.W. in Downtown Albuquerque. In addition to Moriarty, the Turquoise Route includes Edgewood, Sedillo, and Tijeras.
